Today was a sad day because our Rocky Mountain and Fraser adventure ended – but definitely ended on a high note nevertheless with a final golfing Evergreen hurrah. And more importantly, and true to form at the Wild Horse Inn, which he had been staying at the last few days in Fraser, CO, we were treated to another glorious breakfast Sunday morning – a waffle with Palisade peaches, Greek yogurt, and spicy pork sausages….
Today was the big day we were finally going to do the much awaited (at least for me) Georgetown Loop Railroad. I had been looking forward to this since I moved to Colorado a year ago. You can’t spend a day being a railroad dork without starting off without a satisfying breakfast made by John at the Wild Horse Iinn, even though we were still super full from our over stuffed game fest from the night before. #foodporn….
We woke up to a hearty breakfast at the Wild Horse Inn and discussed our grand plans to for hiking Grand Lake later in the day. We got in the previous afternoon to Fraser, CO, driving in from Denver, and managed to still fit a lot in to the day and the evening. For the second time this year, we planned our family Colorado indulgence trip, this time to the Wild Horse Inn in Fraser, CO. What this basically means is enjoying lots of food and some aspect of Colorado – either the outdoors or elements of the culture (music,etc.). Back in April it was Broadmoor Jazz Festival. This Summer’s theme is all about exploring the glorious outdoors, with a healthy dost of food orgy that only the Jacobs know how to do….
